The Curriculum
Bridge Academy offers children a world-class education through:
- an inspirational and challenging curriculum, taught in English
- a safe and creative learning environment
- excellent class teachers and senior teachers who have secure subject knowledge, a deep understanding of how children learn and are fluent in English
Our curriculum is a unique blend of the Bangladesh National Curriculum (English Version), the International Primary Curriculum, and the structured English phonics programme ‘Jolly Phonics’. This integrated approach ensures children learn to speak, read and write in English from a very early age, which is then developed and deepened throughout the rest of the curriculum.
All our classrooms have ICT facilities and children develop knowledge and skills both through the curriculum and as a discreet subject.
We recognise the importance of parents as active partners in their child’s learning and have high expectations for children learning at home both independently and with parental support. All classes hold regular parent workshops to support parents in understanding the curriculum and how to help their child at home.
On-going monitoring and assessment are important tools for teachers and parents to know how well each child is progressing. Bridge Academy has an ‘open door’ policy so in addition to parent workshops and individual parent meetings, all parents are welcome to speak informally to their class teacher to discuss the learning and progress of their child.
